A LITTLE BIT ABOUT US
Welcome animal lovers.
"All Creatures great and small, All creatures wise and wonderful, The Lord God made them all." - James Herriot
If you do not love animals, then you are on the wrong page and I will pray for you. I love all animals. All God's creatures deserve to be loved and treated well. We strive to make sure our babies go to good homes. We want you to be happy with your new baby as we want our puppies to be happy in their life with you.
My mother Tena is, and has been for years, one of only four people in the State of Arkansas that is registered for wildlife animal rescue and rehabilitation. She loves animals of all kinds. For a long time she was known locally as the bat lady by some and the skunk lady by others, lol. She rescues and rehabs many different animals. I get to help as well. Skunks, squirrels, raccoons, opossums, deer, bats and many types of birds. Although she does not have the time she used too, she still will help in saving any and all animals. We work with local animal rescue to make a difference, and to stop animal abuse. We work to find good homes for abused and neglected animals.
We strive to add a little happiness to everyone's life. Our babies come up to date on shots and wormed. The grown babies along with our puppies get toys, snacks, bedding, heat, air and top notch vet care. They get plenty of exercise and are played with everyday.
We ask you to apply by application to adopt one of our babies. We also require that we talk to you by phone before we will let you adopt a puppy. We reserve the right to turn down any adoption request.
We reserve the right to call animal control to investigate our babies new forever home. We only do this if we suspect abuse. No one has the right to abuse any animal. There is no such thing as a bad dog. There are only bad people that neglect and mistreat them.
We are willing to work with other reputable breeders. Without breeders we would not have our precious babies. However we will not work with puppy mills or breeders with a bad reputation.
HOW WE GOT STARTED
Mom had lost her little Poodle and her Chinese Imperial of 13 years. She lost both within 3 months of each other. She was totally lost. She missed them some thing terrible. We felt her pain so we decided to go find her another puppy. She wasn't sure what she wanted. So we started with Toy Poodles and Chinese Imperials, like she had before. She knew it would not be the same, but was at the point she could handle getting a new pet.
We looked all over and it was so sad the things we saw. Some of the places we looked at were so horribly bad. You would have nightmares over it. Kennels that fit the puppy mill name. Unhealthy, matted, sad sad sad places. We would come home wishing we could save them all. Some of these places were worse than others. You could tell they had never been loved like they deserved. The bad ones just settled in our minds. We could not buy them all. One lady even admitted to us that she though of them as objects, simply a money investment for her. They did not have names, it would make it too personal for her. To this day I can not like her.
A lot of the puppies were unsocial and scared. They were in tiny wire pens. This broke our hearts. Some breeders would not even let us see the kennels or the parents. They would only meet us some where else to look at the puppy. I could go on and on about the bad things we saw but I think you know what I mean.
But we also found some great kennels and breeders. That seem to really care about their dogs and were not afraid to let us see their kennel. They let us see the parents and other dogs. They had nothing to hide. I love seeing happy healthy dogs. Mom being a wild life rescuer did not want to support someone that poorly treated their animals. But felt so bad for the dogs in the bad kennels.
We ended up buying from a nice place and got her a little male Toy Poodle named Captain Jack. Then her best friend bought her a female to go with Jack. Later on my sister moved away with the grand baby for a while. Mom was depressed and missed then. So her friend decided that she needed puppies to help easy the void. So they went and rescued a few Palillons and a few Chinese Imperials from a kennel that was going to have them put to sleep. That is what some kennels do when they are done with them. <Cry>
Well they got them on the road to recovery, gave them a better home, socialized them as best they could. I went over and helped a lot with grooming and such. One thing lead to another and before we knew it we had puppies. Of course we brought them all in to our homes out of the weather. We had a small puppy room outside but it was not the best and it was hard to keep the newborns warm in it. Well Pop likes animals but with the rescue area in mom's house and with puppies in it too we were running out of room. So he decided to build us a nice small Kennel. This way we would have a place we could spend as much time as we wanted with them and even our adult dogs would always have heat, air, beds, and a place they could still run and get the exercise they needed.
We can bath them and take full care of them all right there close to the house. They get out to play every day. They get treats daily. We spend most of our day over there now. When we are not cleaning, we are grooming, or playing with them all. Everyone gets attention everyday. God even sent an old friend to help us and he is really great with them. They all love him and it shows.
Pop had always wanted the old time Black and Tan Coon hound. So went and found him a 35 or so Champion blood line male named Boogy Banks. He is big and beautiful. Then he found some 12 and 13 champion blood line females to go with him. We redid the old puppy room and turned it into a birthing room for them.
We have two really great vets. Dr Randy J. Burgess of Mena, Arkansas and Dr. Steel of Broken Bow, Oklahoma. You could not ask for better vets.
Well that's how we got started.
Stomp out animal abuse. Go meet and see your new babies birth home. If they do not let you see the kennel or the puppy's parents then what are they hiding?
We welcome you all to come see our kennel any time, simply call and let us know you'd like to visit.
